Wow, graduation was so special. My sister, my daughter and my son's girlfriend went with me. I actually got to the point of declaring that I was tired of crying. Wes was an honor graduate. You can imagine the pride I felt! He was also in the band, which was so neat. I can't believe the ways he has changed and the ways he has stayed exactly the same. I just don't know what else to say. Everyone reading this has either experienced what I just experienced or will only understand once they have been…

My son is in his 4th week of Air Force Boot Camp. He got sick, I am not sure what is wrong with him. What happens when a trainee gets sick during boot camp, do they get medical care there ? do they stay in the dorm ? does it push back their graduation date ? Any information you can give me regarding this would be great.
Thanks,
Wally

Ok, so if BMT is 8 1/2 weeks and Wesley leaves on November 3, that puts his graduation on New Year's weekend. Any thoughts? I mean, sure, my sister and I celebrating New Years together (for the first time in many many years) in San Antonio can only mean fun (and possibly trouble) but will they actually hold graduation over the holiday, or will it be delayed, or what?
I visited my local used bookstore (managed by my best friend) and got a couple of books on the F 15. I figured I should read as m…

Wes finally got his leave date yesterday. He goes on November 3 and his job will be F15 Avionics. I am so glad he will not be in San Antonio in the summer. He wouldn't mind, but I just can't stand that kind of heat!! A couple of weeks ago, the local recruiters got together and had a big send-off party for all the new recruits who would be leaving over the next few months. All the branches were there and the recruits were introduced. A bunch of local business donated stuff for gift packs for the…

Universal Orlando supports the troops and the veterans. Each day this week we have been honoring the 5 branches of the armed forces. We also like to use the local school JROTC for the color guard.

My daughter talked to a Recruiter yesterday. I already have a son in the Navy. My daughter wants to leave school (she would be registering in her Junior year), and join the Air Force. I am trying to convince her to finish College and go in as an Officer. She says she wants to "have a job and be independent", and the only thing she likes about school is Art. I welcome suggestions. Thanks.
