Sandra, “Welcome to the Blue”. I am glad that you have joined us. I started Air Force Dads to help support and encourage parents and family members, girlfriends and boyfriends, of young men and woman who have or are going to join the Air Force. Please feel free to look around the site and get involved with the groups and discussions that are going on. Maybe start one of your own. I have two sons and both of them are in the military. My oldest joined the Navy and is stationed on the USS Abraham Lincoln CVN 72. My youngest joined the Air Force over 4 years ago. He is slated to deploy this Spring. Please thank Stephanie for her serves to this great country from an old Vietnam vet. Thank you for raising a fine young woman. Please feel free to ask any question you have about the Air Force, we are here for you. I have had the privilege of welcoming several folks who are close to Stephanie but no more proud than to be able to welcome her mom. I am so very pleased to greet you Sandra. You have a wonderful daughter and I am sure you are very proud of her. I want you to know that we are here for you and your family to help during these challenging times.
Hi, Sandra, I have to say I am in awe of Stephanie. She seems like a young woman who really has her act together. I have been hanging on Michael's every word on this sight for what to expect ths summer when my son leaves for BMT, but a mom's perspective is always welcome! Lesa
210-671-2556 Is the number to the Inns at Lackland. I have called there twice and they said anyone can reserve a room. They said to call 2 weeks before you need to be there to reserve a room. Which is April 9th.
Sandra, I wanted to stop by and say hello. You know, it does this old veterans heart good to see the whole family of Stephanie’s on this site and the support she has, this is great. I know that you are very proud of her and after graduation you are going to be surprised that you are going to be even prouder (if that’s a word). Take lots of pictures and share some of them here and tell us about the graduation when you get back. I am so exited for you.
We still have no idea when Wes is leaving. I spoke with his recruiter this week and he is checking on it for me because he should have heard something by now. He did say there is a slow down right now because of the economy, but Wes scored high enough on the ASVAB that he should be high up on the list to go. I am not eager for a leave date, per se, but I know Wes is getting anxious to go. The recruiter is hoping to get an answer for us next week. Stephanie is awesome, I can see why you are so proud. How is she doing in tech school? Lesa
