Universal Orlando celebrities the Armed Forces

Universal Orlando supports the troops and the veterans. Each day this week we have been honoring the 5 branches of the armed forces. We also like to use the local school JROTC for the color guard.

This is not an add for smoking!

This is something I wrote a while back to remind people to remember not to forget our troops.

Sgt Terry,
Thanks for the comment about my son. I do have a question & I hope you can answer.
JR Left on Jan 25 & arrived in San Antonio on the 26th. We got the initial call at 2:30am to say I have arrived safely here is my address. Since then we have NOT heard a word. Not a call. Not a letter. Is this normal? How long should expect to not hear from him?

Thanks again.
Worried parent.

Thank you so much for your words of encouragement. I want to thank you for your service during the Veitnam War. Too many people forget that this country neglected to thank these veterans for their service because of all of the politics that was going on at that time. I am afraid this is happening again . Im afraid that our servicemen may not receive the support they need in Afghanistan and Iraq. I love my country but I am scared for it at the same time. Any thoughts on how you feel about this?

Thank you Sgt. for the warm welcome. I found your site trying to find an answer about graduation dates on holidays and came across the Mother of a fellow Trainee who ships to BMT the same day as me (Tuesday). I'm actually preparing to head to the MEPS hotel right now, as soon as I can get my newly emptied apartment clean. Once I do, I'll be incommunicado for 8.5 weeks or so, but will be back to enjoy your wonderful site again. Again, thank you; for this site, for your hospitality, and for your service as well.

Thanks for the welcome. And thanks for this site. I must confess that I have some apprehensions about my son being in the military. While I do support him in this, I'm concerned about his safety now. The world is not getting any nicer from where I sit, and there is talk of expanding our forces in Afghanistan. I heard from him this past weekend and learned that he probably will not get his first or second pick for a job, and may end up in the general category as part of Security forces. To me, that means a possible deployment to Iraq, but I really don't know. Fear is a sneaky animal and I can sense it sniffing around the edges of my consciousness. How do you cope with it?

Thanks, Sgt. Terry! Those are great ideas and great advice that will help so much as we approach and go through BMT! I appreciate all your suggestions and love the idea of getting people to write notes and to take pictures at his "going away" party. E.G.'s boot camp checklist is very helpful! I don't know how we'd manage without all the support from this group. With your help and the rest of the members, we'll make this transition as smooth as possible!

Thank you, Sgt. Terry, for stopping by and leaving me a message. I really hope to speak to Stephanie because it seems as if she may be able to give me some advice and pointers. The decision is pretty much set, I will be joining, I just really would like some advice from someone who has already been through it, you know. Thanks again!

hey thanks for your comments sorry i have checked on site until now. Graduation was so great!! I was in awe of my daughter and still am. Graduation was a 4 day event but the memories of that time will last a lifetime. Lackland AFB to my suprise was like being in a city within a city. I still cant get over how big the base was as well as all it had to offer.
