Steven, I have two boys in the military and one has been over in the sand box once, the other is in the Navy and he will be going out to sea to who knows where. It is tough to think that they are going places that could be unsafe. My wife and I look…

Thanks for the welcome. And thanks for this site. I must confess that I have some apprehensions about my son being in the military. While I do support him in this, I'm concerned about his safety now. The world is not getting any nicer from…

Profile Information

My Airman's first name
Nathan
Describe a little about yourself
Working professional in the Midwest with kids growing up and leaving the nest. Proud to have my oldest in the AF. Not a military man myself but my own father was - in the Navy.
What brought you to this site:
my son is recently enlisted
What were your feelings when your Airman joined the Air Force?
I supported him fully in that decision. While I felt some apprehension for his safety of course, that was set aside for a greater feeling of pride and respect for the choice he made. I know why he chose to serve and what his career goals are, and it gives me a feeling of satisfaction that he is pursuing those goals.
What is your relationship with your Airman

Steven, “Welcome to the Blue”. I am glad that you have joined us. I started Air Force Dads to help support and encourage parents and family members, girlfriends and boyfriends, of young men and woman who have or are going to join the Air Force. Please feel free to look around the site and get involved with the groups and discussions that are going on. Maybe start one of your own. I have two sons and both of them are in the military. My oldest joined the Navy and is stationed on the USS Abraham Lincoln CVN 72. My youngest joined the Air Force 5 years ago, and is stationed at Seymour Johnson AFB N.C. Please thank Nathan for his service to this great country from an old Vietnam Vet. Thank you for raising a fine young man.

Steven, I have two boys in the military and one has been over in the sand box once, the other is in the Navy and he will be going out to sea to who knows where. It is tough to think that they are going places that could be unsafe. My wife and I look at it this way, how safe are the streets in Orland if they where walking the streets here untrained? On the other hand they are trained and so are the men and women they are with so I am confident that they are as safe over their as they would be here. I know, not very comforting but for us it does help some. I also have put them in the hands of the Lord and pray for them and every every airman repesenteed here on this site. It helps me get through the night. Steven there is not easy answer I just know my boys are doing what they want to do and I pray that they will take care and be safe. I am praying for Nathan.
