Shaun, I don’t know if you will get this sense you are walking out the door but good luck and when you get back on the site I want to hear your thoughts of the experience. I will be proud to call you a fellow Airman and brother.

Thank you Sgt. for the warm welcome. I found your site trying to find an answer about graduation dates on holidays and came across the Mother of a fellow Trainee who ships to BMT the same day as me (Tuesday). I'm actually preparing to head to…

Shaun, I talked to Wesley's recruiter and he said the holidays made no difference in graduation. 8 1/2 weeks is 8 1/2 weeks, which would put your graduation on New Year's. Have you heard anything different?
I come from a long line of proud military men, from all branches. When I got sick of working in the IT industry, it just kind of made sense. I needed some excitement and to get out of Dallas, plus I get to blow stuff up for a living.
Wes is going for F-15 Avionics. We are from Southern Illinois, so he will be leaving from St. Louis. Explosives...wow...you da man! What made you decide on the military?
Hey, Shaun. Good to meet someone who will be with Wes. I still don't know when graduation will be for you. Wesley's uncle is retired from the Air Force and said that the base will pretty much shut down for a week for Christmas, but he…

Wesley's uncle is retired from the Air Force and said that the base will pretty much shut down for a week for Christmas, but he didn't know how it will affect BMT. Still looking for answers. Where are you coming from? What is you job going to be?

Please feel free to look around the site and get involved with the groups and discussions that are going on. Maybe start one of your own. I have two sons and both of them are in the military. My oldest joined the Navy and is stationed on the USS Abraham Lincoln CVN 72. My youngest joined the Air Force 5 years ago, and is stationed at Seymour Johnson AFB N.C. Thank you, Shaun for your service to this great country from an old Vietnam Vet.
