Sgt Terry,
Not sure if you are aware of a problem with SPAM lately. I have been receiving an average of 20 per day this past week with the title " AIR FORCE "
Naturally, the first day I opened it thinking it was from this group. Now I…
Sgt Terry,
Thought I would let you know I finally heard from my son JR today around 1pm. He sounded great. He says the first 3-4 days was the hardest but he is getting the hang of basic. He was allowed about 5 mins so he spoke to mom & sis as…
Frank, normal is a work that is not used in the military much. I know that you are worried and that, I can tell you is normal. Rest assured that JR is okay. It may take a little while before you hear from him. Phone calls come at the TI’s…
Sgt Terry,

Jane,
Thanx for the encouragement. JR left Monday Jan 25th. He is now in San Antonio for boot camp.
We got his 1 & only phone call at 230am & I wanted to kill someone. Do they not realize "NORMAL" people are sleeping at that hour?…
Welcome to Air Force Dads! Being a parent of an Airman is challenging. Together we can get through the tough times and share in your pride for their accomplishments. I have a son in the Air Force and one in the Navy. Let us know how he is doing. Is…

We got his 1 & only phone call at 230am & I wanted to kill someone. Do they not realize "NORMAL" people are sleeping at that hour? It has been very difficult these last few days for all of us. Walking by his room first
thing in the am & him not there is the hardest part. The smallest things remind me of how close we were.
I'm sure it will get easier as time goes on.
Thanks again.
Frank, “Welcome to the Blue”. I am glad that you have joined us. I started Air Force Dads to help support and encourage parents and family members, girlfriends and boyfriends, of young men and woman who have or are going to join the Air Force. Please feel free to look around the site and get involved with the groups and discussions that are going on. Maybe start one of your own. I have two sons and both of them are in the military. My oldest joined the Navy and is stationed on the USS Abraham Lincoln CVN 72. My youngest joined the Air Force 5 years ago, and is stationed at Seymour Johnson AFB N.C. Please thank Frank for his service to this great country from an old Vietnam Vet.
I apologize for taking so long to welcoming you to this site.
Sgt Terry
Frank, normal is a work that is not used in the military much. I know that you are worried and that, I can tell you is normal. Rest assured that JR is okay. It may take a little while before you hear from him. Phone calls come at the TI’s (Training Instructor) discretion when the flight does well. Phone calls are a reward. Letters will come but only about one a week. They are very busy during the week. They should get time on Sunday to write home. I know it is hard not to worry but JR is being taken care of. Basic training is tough both on the airman and their parents and usually harder for the parents because the airman are very busy and the parents are home wringing their hands. I believe you will receive a letter from JR middle to later this week. Please let me know when you hear from him.
Sgt Terry

Again thanks for all your continued support.

Besides sending it all to my spam folder, any suggestions?
