Air Force Dads

This may be the first time that you are separated from your son or daughter for a long period of time. You may want to contact them or you may have to contact them. This will help you.

The only regular contact you will have with them is snail mail. Check out the PDF file as to the Air Force policy of contacting your Airman.

Below I have included the basic addresses that are used at Lackland AFB for those who are in BMT. It would be helpful to have this available when that first phone call comes. Then you can just fill in the appropriate blanks. Read this over ahead of time so you are familiar with it and when your Airman calls you will be ready to write his or her address down. They will not have much time to talk.

A day or two after arrival at Air Force Basic Military Training (AFBMT), you'll learn your mailing address. On the Sunday or Monday following arrival, you should get a chance to call home, and let your loved one's know your new address. You'll also fill out a post card to mail to your loved ones, as soon as you get your address.
The are seven Recruit Training Squadrons (TRS) at Lackland. Your mailing address depends on your squadron, the flight you are assigned to, and the dormitory number your flight is assigned to. Your mailing address will look like this:

If the squadron is the 320 TRS, the address will look like:
AB Last, First MI
320 TRS / FLT xxx Dorm x-x (flight and dorm number depends on flight and dormitory assigned)
PSC # 4
1015 Truemper St. Unit 36xxxx (the last 4 digits of Unit number depends on the squadron and dorm assigned)
Lackland AFB, TX 78236-6040

If the squadron is the 321 TRS, the address will look like:
AB Last, First MI
321 TRS / FLT xxx Dorm x-x (flight and dorm number depends on flight and dormitory assigned)
PSC # 4
1015 Truemper St. Unit 36xxxx (the last 4 digits of Unit number depends on the squadron and dorm assigned)
Lackland AFB, TX 78236-6040

If the squadron is the 322 TRS, the address will look like:
AB Last, First MI
322 TRS / FLT xxx Dorm x-x (flight and dorm number depends on flight and dormitory assigned)
PSC # 4
1015 Truemper St. Unit 36xxxx (the last 4 digits of Unit number depends on the squadron and dorm assigned)
Lackland AFB, TX 78236-6040

If the squadron is the 323 TRS, the address will look like:
AB Last, First MI
323 TRS / FLT xxx Dorm x-x (flight and dorm number depends on flight and dormitory assigned)
PSC # 3
1500 Shaw Drive, Unit 36xxxx (the last 4 digits of Unit number depends on the squadron and dorm assigned)
Lackland AFB, TX 78236-6095

If the squadron is the 324 TRS, the address will look like:
AB Last, First MI
324 TRS / FLT xxx Dorm x-x (flight and dorm number depends on flight and dormitory assigned)
PSC # 2
2220 Andrews Ave, Unit 36xxxx (the last 4 digits of Unit number depends on the squadron and dorm assigned)
Lackland AFB, TX 78236-6029

If the squadron is the 326 TRS, the address will look like:
AB Last, First MI
326 TRS / FLT xxx Dorm x-x (flight and dorm number depends on flight and dormitory assigned)
PSC # 5
1015 Truemper St. Unit 94xxxx (the last 4 digits of Unit number depends on the squadron and dorm assigned)
Lackland AFB, TX 78236-6095

If the squadron is the 331 TRS, the address will look like:
AB Last, First MI
331 TRS / FLT xxx Dorm x-x (flight and dorm number depends on flight and dormitory assigned)
PSC # 3
1500 Shaw Drive, Unit 36xxxx (the last 4 digits of Unit number depends on the squadron and dorm assigned)
Lackland AFB, TX 78236-6095

For all of the squadrons, except for the 326th, the unit # begins with "36," and the last 4 digits depend on the squadron assigned to and the dormitory assigned. If one knows the squadron and dormitory number, one can find the last 4 digits of the unit # from this chart.
Don't get too wrapped up over the addresses, even if one of the examples look a little different than what you heard over the phone. Even if pieces of the address are wrong or missing, your letter will still get there. As long as you have the name, squadron, flight, Lackland AFB, and the first five numbers of the zip code on the envelope, the letter will get to the recruit (it just may take a day or two longer).

For example, the following address would get to a recruit who was in the 326th Training Squadron in Flight 672:
AB Appleseed, Johnny
326 TRS / FLT 672
Lackland AFB, TX 78236

If all else fails, a week (or so) after arrival, your address is listed at the Lackland AFB Basic Training Reception Center. Your family can call the center at (210) 671-3024 and get your address. They will need to know your social security number and full name.
