Ammend the Federal Tort Claims Act for Medical Malpractice

The Carmelo Rodridguez Military Medical Malpractice Accountability Act. This legislation will fix the Feres Doctrine.  The Carmelo Rodridguez Military Medical Malpractice Accountability Act

(S-1347/HR 1478) sponsored by Senator Charles Schumer (D-NY) and Rep. Maurice D. Hinkley (D-NY), would ammend the Federal Tort Claims Act to provide well-deserved protection to service members who honorably serve and protect our country, allowing them to hold negligent government healtcare providers accountable. This legislation has cleard the House Commercial and Administrative Law SubCommittee, will restore rights that were originall granted to service members by Congress. The bill will not apply to injuries sustained during combat. The most important piece of this legislation will ensure that service members are not penelized for their service to our country by being stripped of fundamental rights granted to every other american.
